Our Home Driveway Washed Away

Tuesday evening (April 24, 2012) around 11:30 p.m. our driveway washed away and left a 50' gapping holeIn 2008 around this same time of year, the creek was very swollen and we were concerned of possible flooding, but the culvert kept the water flowing.

David Kinlacheeny: Cowboy Farmer

David has a new 2 family garden that he has been working very hard on.  He also raises cattle and horses for the rodeo.  He is planning on having a rodeo this summer or fall at his place.

Huckelberry Tent & Breakfast

Christine's Tent & Breakfast reminds me of the hogans here in Chilchinbito.  The only difference is her Tent & Breakfast is in the mountains of Clark Fork, North Idaho.  Each tent has its own shower, outhouse, kitchen, and delicious home grown fresh breakfast.

Interestingly enough in Tuba City Arizona about 100 miles from where we live, and still on the Navajo Reservation, a family has set up a Hogan bed & breakfast.

Firetree Bed & Breakfast

Additionally, it looks like Monument Valley has a Hogan bed & breakfast too.

Mary & Jeff: Old Hogan, New Garden

They have a super secure garden area to keep the sheep out. There are only 3 tractors that I know of in the area and Jeff has 1.  That tractor was a big help in bringing in manure.  The traditional hogan was being refurbished with new cedar bark and clay for the roof.
